Helicopter Makes Emergency Landing in a Field

A helicopter that was transporting a patient to San Francisco had to make an emergency landing in a field in Vacaville on February 26, 2015. The helicopter left Vaca Valley Hospital at roughly 8:30 p.m. The pilot suspected that a bird may have hit the helicopter, but it is still unclear if that is the reason that the helicopter had to land. The helicopter landed safely near Peabody Road and Alamon Drive. The Vacaville Fire and Police Departments arrived on the scene to assist, and the patient was transferred to an ambulance to make the trip to San Francisco.
